You can quickly and easily send clinical photos from PicSafe to ZedMed. There are two methods of integrating with ZedMed.
Standard Method
Setup
None.
Instructions
- Take a photo in PicSafe.
- On the Send screen, select My PicSafe.
- On your computer, go to my.picsafe.com and sign in.
- Click on the Download PDF button next to the report you just sent.
- Open ZedMed and add like you would any other document.
Benefits
- Quick and compliant method for getting photos off your phone.
Requirements
- None.
Optional
- A PicSafe PRO or PicSafe Enterprise account removes the pink watermark on images.
Automated Method
Setup
Your IT department must grant PicSafe permission to upload "reports" directly into ZedMed. Click the button below to get an info pack to give your IT department.
Instructions
- Take a photo in PicSafe.
- On the Send screen, select My PicSafe.
- Select ZedMed in the send screen.

- Compliant method for getting photos off your phone into the medical record.
- Quickest method for getting photos into the medical record.
- Can validate patient details are correct.
Requirements
- A PicSafe Enterprise account with 100+ users.
Why is this better than using the standard camera on my phone?
- You can document consent.
- Patient data doesn't travel internationally.
- Photos aren't stored alongside personal photos.
- Metadata is stripped from photos.
- Medical photos aren't accessible if you lose your phone.
- Patient Data is encrypted when transferred.
- It's easier than sending a photo to yourself and then importing it.

For Developers
PicSafe does "automated" integrations via Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR). FHIR is a standard way of defining an API for healthcare resources. More information can be found at the FHIR website and in the PicSafe Documentation.
