How do I capture and send clinical photos to Allscripts?

Picsafe Allscripts

You can quickly and easily send clinical photos from PicSafe to Allscripts. There are two methods of integrating with Allscripts.

Standard Method

Setup

None.

Instructions
  1. Take a photo in PicSafe.
  2. On the Send screen, select My PicSafe.
  3. On your computer, go to my.picsafe.com and sign in.
  4. Click on the Download PDF button next to the report you just sent.
  5. Open Allscripts and add like you would any other document.

Automated Method

Setup

Your IT department must grant PicSafe permission to upload "reports" directly into Allscripts. Click the button below to get an info pack to give your IT department. It is also likely that your IT department will need to work with PicSafe to setup an integration.

  1. Take a photo in PicSafe.
  2. On the Send screen, select My PicSafe.
  3. Select Allscripts in the send screen.

Requirements

Why is this better than using the standard camera on my phone?

  1. You can document consent.
  2. Patient data doesn't travel internationally.
  3. Photos aren't stored alongside personal photos.
  4. Metadata is stripped from photos.
  5. Medical photos aren't accessible if you lose your phone.
  6. Patient Data is encrypted when transferred.
  7. It's easier than sending a photo to yourself and then importing it.
